The Recôncavo Basin is one of Brazil's most mature hydrocarbon fields. Since 2012, operators have expressed interest in re-exploring this mature field with newer techniques, including horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing, in an effort to unlock the potential of the underlying source rocks.
