Acambuco is an important gas producer located in the Noroeste basin. Two large gas fields, San Pedrito and Macueta, lie in deep, Devonian-age formations that lie on trend with the important Ramos gas field (see separate analysis). Minor quantities of liquids are also produced at Acambuco. The largest of these fields, San Pedrito, came onstream in 2001 with Macueta following in 2006. Both fields share the same processing facilities and all gas is sold to the domestic market.
