ADOC Contract Area

Report summary

The Abu Dhabi Oil Company (ADOC) is a consortium of Japanese companies led by Cosmo Oil. It operates three producing fields, Mubarraz, Umm al-Anbar and Neewat al-Ghalan, and the undeveloped Hail field. All of the fields are located offshore, within contiguous blocks about 15 kilometres south of the Zakum field. Mubarraz is the largest field and produces light sour crude from Cretaceous carbonates. Umm al-Anbar and Neewat al-Ghalan are two smaller oil and gas fields that produce from the Jurassic Arab reservoir. Oil from the three fields is blended and exported from Mubarraz Island.
