The Weze block, 40 kilometres east of Port Gentil, was carved out of the northern section of the Salsich block onshore Gabon in 2012. The acreage contains the small Akondo field which was discovered in 2009, as well as five sub-commercial fields.The Akondo development received approval from the Direction Générale des Hydrocarbures (DGH) in 2012 and was brought onstream in 2015.Production is tied back to the M'Boumba facilities 35 kilometres to the northeast.
