Alberta carbon levy increased and royalty review announced
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
On 25 June, Alberta's freshly elected NDP government announced the extension of, and amendment to, the expiring Specified Gas Emitters Regulation (SGER). It is the first step in what we expect to be a more material overhaul of the current framework, with the coinciding creation of a climate change advisory panel. The panel will be gathering policy input from Alberta citizens for the next three months before providing recommendations in the fall.
