Asia-Pacific upstream: 2018 in review
Report summary
In this report, we look back at how Asia-Pacific's upstream sector fared during 2018. Activity and investment levels remained steady, except M&A where deal spend is 61% higher than 2017. Australasia remain the hotbed for M&A activity, but South-East Asia is coming back to the market from a muted 2017. Gas continue to dominate the region and the six major projects sanctioned in 2018 was all gas. The six FIDs has a total capex of US$10 billion and is set to recover ~9 tcf of gas.
