Report summary
The Aspen project is located in the Athabasca oil sands region of Alberta, 60 kilometres northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Aspen's bitumen will be recovered using Solvent-Assisted Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SA-SAGD). This new extraction method will inject pentanes+ along with steam resulting in 25% lower GHG emissions and reduced water usage by up to 20% when compared to traditional SAGD projects.
