Vista Oil & Gas (Vista) acquired Bajada del Palo in 2018. The acquisition was the first after its IPO in 2017. Vista went public first in the Mexican Stock Market, under a Special Purpose Aquisition Company (SPAC) scheme. In 2018, the operator drilled its first four shale wells in the western portion of the block.
