The Bajo del Choique and La Invernada fields were discovered in 2014 by ExxonMobil. At the time, the discovery wells registered the highest initial production rates from the Vaca Muerta shale formation. The blocks are operated as a single development, mostly in the light oil window of the Vaca Muerta shale.
