Block 06-1 (Lan Tay/Lan Do)
Report summary
Block 06-1 is located in the Nam Con Son Basin, 370 kilometres from shore, and contains the Lan Tay and Lan Do gas condensate fields. After several years of negotiation, PetroVietnam signed a number of commercial agreements in late-2000/early-2001, allowing development of Lan Tay to proceed. This was the first major gas development in Vietnam. First production from Lan Tay field was achieved on 22 November 2002 with the gas transported to shore via a 370 kilometre dual-phase pipeline.
