Asset Report
Block 07/03 (Ca Rong Do)
Report summary
Block 07/03 is located on the southern border of the Nam Con Son Basin, 420 kilometres from shore. The block contains the Ca Rong Do (Red Emperor) oil and gas field which was discovered in June 2009. Appraisal drilling in 2013 confirmed the commerciality of the field, and operator Repsol (ex-Talisman) initiated development planning. A final investment decision (FID) was taken on Ca Rong Do in April 2017. However, the project has been put on hold due to the Nine-Dash Line dispute.
