Block 58 is located in the Ucayali basin, adjacent to Block 88, Block 57, and Block 56. Petrobras Energía Peru conducted exploration work and made a series of gas discoveries before the block was acquired by CNPC and PetroChina.The Chinese consortium made the fourth discovery on the block in 2013.
