Discovered in 1974, the Bretana oil field is located in Block 95 in the Marañon Basin. PetroTal Corp. acquired the block in 2018, reactivated the well Bretana Norte 95-2-1XD and upgraded the infrastructure to process 5,000 boe/d. The production tests started in June 2018, and the operator declared field commerciality in December 2018.
