Block M5/M6 (Yadana)
Report summary
The large Yadana gas field was discovered in 1983, by a Japan National Oil Company/Myanmar Oil Corporation joint venture. Following appraisal, a Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) was concluded in February 1995 between the Yadana partners and the Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT). First production from the Yadana field was delayed until August 1998 and initial offtake was below the daily contract quantity (DCQ) levels.
