The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) pipeline is the key export route for Kazakh liquids. It was commissioned in 2001 and has recently been expanded. The CPC runs across west Kazakhstan and Russia to a dedicated marine terminal at South Ozereika, near Novorossiisk on the Black Sea.The CPC was primarily built to transport oil from the super-giant Tengiz field, but it is a vital outlet for other Kazakh and Russian operators.
