Asset Report
Changbei
Report summary
The Changbei tight gas field is in the Ordos Basin, northern Shaanxi province. Shell developed Changbei's gas to mainly supply Beijing. A quick ramp-up between 2007 and 2008 ensured the gas was fed into the capital during the 2008 Summer Olympics and was used to light the Olympic flame. In September 1999, Shell signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) with PetroChina to develop Changbei.
