CNOOC's Lingshui 17-2 discovery could revive ailing exploration interest in deepwater China
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
CNOOC has made a major gas discovery in South China Sea, 150km south of Hainan. The Lingshui 17-2 is the first discovery CNOOC has made as operator, using its own semisubmersible rig and crew. The discovery could revive ailing IOC interest in deepwater exploration in China, especially after several disappointing well results in recent years.
