Continental and Mediterranean Europe upstream month in brief: 1 October 2015
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
We have highlighted the main stories of the past month in the European upstream sector (excluding the North Sea countries of UK, Norway, Netherlands and Denmark) and have added our opinion and analysis to keep you informed. Ireland has received a impressive 43 bids in its Atlantic Margin licensing round. The bidders' identities have not been released, but this is positive news for the country. However, it is not all good news in Ireland; start up of the much-delayed Corrib field development has again been put back, with first gas now expected early in 2016. Shell's bid for the deepwater Silistar licence in Bulgaria's Black Sea has reportedly been accepted, with a formal award expected in late October. This continued confidence in the western Black Sea has been spurred by the discovery of the large Domino field and the ongoing drilling campaign being undertaken by ExxonMobil and Petrom.
