Covid-19’s impact on China’s upstream industry
Report summary
China’s oil and gas demand has been affected by the strict restrictions imposed to contain the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. But what about the upstream industry? Chinese NOCs are making concerted efforts to maintain domestic supply levels, and the major oil and gas production areas have not been hit heavily by the outbreak. However, we still expect 133 mmcfd of gas and 26,000 b/d of oil to be curtailed on an annualised basis in our base-case scenario.
