The Cygnus field is located in the Silver Pit Basin within the Southern Gas Basin and is comprised of eight tilted fault blocks. Consistent with other Carboniferous reservoirs in the area, it contains low porosity and permeability sandstone. The Cygnus field startedproduction in December 2016. It is expected to be one of the largest gas producers in the UK at peak production.
