State-owned Turkmengaz operates the giant Dauletabad-Donmez gas field in the prolific Amu Darya basin. It is one of the largest gas deposits in Central Asia and has been Turkmenistan's core supply source for several decades. Dauletabad-Donmez is located in east Turkmenistan, next to the Iranian border.It remains a vital upstream asset for Turkmengaz, with a peak production capacity of 2,900 mmcfd (30 bcm a year).
