Defining advantaged resources
Report summary
The oil and gas industry still faces a huge challenge to meet expected demand. By 2050, it must develop a trillion boe beyond its proven supply from onstream fields. At the same time, many leading companies’ focus on capital discipline and sustainability restricts their investment to selected assets – the ‘advantaged resources’. Most commercial undeveloped fields and all the vast global inventory of contingent resources do not fully satisfy our definition of advantaged.
