Report summary
Tupi and Sapinhoá pre-salt wells are some of the most productive globally. In 2021, they are producing 17% of global deepwater oil. And the two most mature pre-salt fields have just entered their decline phase. Mid-life performance merits deeper study. We have fit historical production well level data to a decline model to assess historical performance and estimate the potential additional oil recovery from the fields. The decline rates of existing wells and results of the infill campaign will affect Brazil’s future production and revenue levels for decades to come.
