E&P Investment trends in Latin America
Report summary
Resource-rich Latin America is again an investment hotspot, drawing in some of the world's leading E&Ps. Successful licensing rounds in Brazil and Mexico have provided access to some of the world's most prospective offshore acreage, companies are building exposure to Argentina's world-class Vaca Muerta shale, and the exploration success story in the Guyana basin shows little sign of slowing down. Divestment and farm-out programmes at the region's NOCs provide additional opportunity, as companies transition from survival to growth. At the same time, countries must ensure above-ground conditions remain sufficiently competitive to attract industry capital.
