Report summary
On 21 and 22 January 2018, Wood Mackenzie attended the inaugural Egypt Oil & Gas Technical Convention in Cairo. The event was opened by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, HE Tarek El-Molla, and was attended by 300 delegates. Representatives from all the major operators, service sector, EGPC, EGAS and the Ministry of Petroleum were present. Wood Mackenzie was well represented with two presentations, Positioning Egypt for Growth and Egypt’s Gas Growth Story, and a seat on the main strategic panel alongside the Chairman of EGAS, CEO of EGPC, General Manager of Eni Egypt and General Manager for Schlumberger Egypt.
