El Franig Baguel and Tarfa
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The El Franig, Baguel and Tarfa gas fields are located to the south of Chott el Djerid, a large salt pan 150km west of Gabes. Perenco acquired its 50% interest and operatorship of the El Franig, Baguel and Tarfa gas condensate fields through its purchase of CMS Oil and Gas in July 2002. El Franig is the largest of the fields. Gas, condensate and LPG from the three fields is exported via the main El Borma-Ghannouche export lines. In May 2009, the "Loop Project" entailing the construction of a new 72km gas pipeline, processing facility upgrades and two new development wells, was completed. Investment on Baguel is expected to boost production and extend the life of the field.
