France upstream summary
Report summary
A mature onshore producer - Large-scale upstream operations began in the 1940s. Activity remains focused on the Paris basin (central and northeast France) and Aquitaine basin (southwest France). The vast majority of fields have now been producing for several decades. Output has been in steady decline since the 1980s, when oil production peaked at about 65,000 b/d. Gas sales are currently minimal. The large Lacq gas field is still producing in the Aquitaine basin, albeit only minor volumes. ...
