Gas gridlock in Brazil’s pre-salt: finding alternative routes
Report summary
Brazil liquids production will edge 5 million b/d in the late 2020s. More than 90% of that will come from the Campos and Santos basins where the massive pre-salt discoveries lie. Combined with the liquids, a large volume of non-flexible associated gas will be produced in the two basins. We forecast 53 Mcmd of offshore pipeline transportation capacity will need to be added during the next decade. Onshore processing will also need to be expanded along with gas-to-power projects. FLNG is an option to add flexibility to the system.
