Report summary

The Gharraf oil field is located 220 kilometres south of Baghdad, in the Dhi Qar (also Thi Qar) province of Iraq. It was discovered in the mid-1980s but was left undeveloped until the award of a technical service contract to a consortium led by PETRONAS in 2010. The first phase was put on production in August 2013. It quickly ramped up and averaged 84,000 b/d in 2014. Production has been stable in a range between 85,000 b/d and 105,000 b/d.
