US E&Ps appear to making a run at Louisiana Austin Chalk acreage again with industry leading play-opener EOG Resources pioneering the charge. EOG recently drilled the Eagles Ranch 14H in Avoyelles parish, Louisiana, the first modern fractured horizontal Austin Chalk well to date in Louisiana. Early well results signify a potential breakthrough in the play. A large 3D shoot is underway in southern Avoyelles and northern St. Landry parish that should be complete by the summer of 2018.
