Only ten oil and gas companies in our Corporate Service universe have set net zero Scope 3 ambitions. The limited commitment reflects the huge challenge the sector faces in reducing Scope 3 emissions. Companies are taking different bets on the levers to manage Scope 3 risk. The aim is to leverage areas of competitive strength. Three broad net zero Scope 3 business models have emerged: Big Energy, Carbon as a Service and Sustainable Fuels.
