Asset Report
Jiuquan Basin (Yumen fields)
Report summary
The Yumen oil fields complex is in the Jiuquan Basin, a narrow intermontane basin located in a remote area of northcentral China. With commercial production starting in the 1940s, Yumen is often referred to as the 'cradle' of the Chinese oil industry. After around eight decades of development, all legacy fields are almost depleted, and the operating costs have risen over time.
