Report summary

The Jiuquan Basin is a narrow intermontane basin located in a remote area of northcentral China. A relatively flat natural corridor, termed the Hexi Corridor, extends northwest from Lanzhou through the Jiuquan Basin and has been an important transport and trade route to the northwestern regions of China for centuries. Six commercial discoveries, collectively termed the Yumen oil fields, have been made since 1928.
