K5

K5 is a reservoir with a massive 21-tcf gas-initially-in-place. It was discovered in 1970, but it has a high CO2 content of up to 70%. The discovery has been largely ignored due to a lack of incentives from the government to develop high CO2 fields pre-2000, more economical gas discoveries with lower acid gas content and lack of mature carbon capture technology.
