Magnetic Oil, a local Kazakh firm, operates the Komsomolskoye and Tasbulat Area fields in southwest Kazakhstan. In 2021, it bought the assets from OMV Petrom, which had previously controlled the Kom-Munai and Tasbulat Oil Corporation (TOC) operating companies since the early 2000s.In 2023, aggregate oil production was about 5,500 b/d from the mature fields.
