Krasnodarneftegaz is the main producer of hydrocarbons in the Krasnodar Krai in the North Caucasus. The area is very mature - it has produced two billion barrels of oil and 3.5 tcf of gas since the 1920s. Traditionally, Krasnodarneftegaz has focused on oil production which peaked at 140,000 b/d in 1970s.Many of the fields operated by Krasnodarneftegaz are shut-in or abandoned.
