Narina remains the only discovery in Liberia The oil and gas industry in Liberia is still in its infancy. Exploration in the 1970s briefly focused on shallow water, pre-rift targets. Two civil wars (1989-1996 and 1999-2003) severely damaged the country. Upstream activity re-started in 2007 following the Jubilee discovery in Ghana, which shifted exploration attention to the Atlantic Margin.
