Linnorm
Report summary
The Linnorm gas and condensate field is in the Norwegian Sea, around 70 kilometres south of the Åsgard infrastructure and 30 kilometres northwest of Njord. Shell made the high pressure, high temperature (HP/HT) discovery in 2005. The field was appraised in 2007 but has yet to be developed due to a combination of technical challenges (HP/HT reservoirs and high sulphur and CO2 content), periods of price volatility and partner misalignment on proposed development concepts.
