Looming elections dampen confidence - September 2018 Nigeria research trip takeaways
Report summary
In September 2018, Wood Mackenzie's upstream analysts travelled to Lagos in Nigeria. We met with IOCs, indigenous E&P companies and service sector companies to discuss key themes and the latest developments. Uncertainty remains following the withheld assent on the PIGB and imminent general election, and the sense is that Nigeria may miss the boat on global investment dollars. But there are some positive signs as debts are repaid and the supply chain is able to deliver projects. With huge potential and massive oil and gas reserves, the country could still pack a punch at a global scale. In this slidepack, we show some of the key issues we took away from our meetings.
