Lower 48 upstream: 2020 in review
Report summary
It's safe to say 2020 was tight oil’s most turbulent year ever. Amid the chaotic nine months starting last March, the pace of change was so fast that it was entirely too easy to get stuck in each day’s single events. There weren’t lots of opportunities to reflect and learn from events barely in the rearview mirror. We recap last year with five events that defined our team’s 2020. These are the topics and events clients wanted to understand most and needed to analyze fastest. Price volatility, shut-ins, M&A, regulatory changes, and large Permian shakeups. We briefly rehash each topic chronologically and provide links to the analysis we did at the time. But more importantly, we provide an update versus our original work.
