Report summary
Agip (now Eni) made the Maamoura discovery on its Enfida exploration licence in 1987.Development approval was granted in 2007. Eni drilled two development wells in 2008 and completed an onshore processing facility a year later. First production commenced in late 2009. The gas is sold to Société Tunisienne du Électricité et du Gaz (STEG) while the oil is trucked to La Skhira to be exported. Twenty percent of the produced oil is reserved for the domestic market and trucked to the Bizerte refinery.
