The Moabi block lies in shallow water offshore Cameroon. It is in Cameroon's Rio del Rey Basin, which is an eastern extension of the prolific Niger Delta. The Block was originally part of the Mondonia concession, operated by Pecten Cameroon. In 2011, some of the acreage of the block was reliquinshed when Addax acquired Shell's stake in Pecten Cameroon and this formed the Moabi block.
