On 29 July 2014 Templar Energy (operating through Le Norman Operating LLC)announced that it had agreed to purchase from Newfield 42,000 net acres in the Granite Wash(located primarily in Wheeler County, Texas)for US$588 million. The deal enables Newfield to delever its balance sheet. Over the past year, Templar, a private equity-backed operator, has been amassing a sizeable position in the Granite Wash.
