Nikaitchuq is an oil accumulation located in the shallow waters off Alaska's North Slope. The project was sanctioned by Eni in January 2008 and the first development plan was then submitted in June of the same year. Production began with extended reach drilling from the onshore production pad in January 2011. Offshore production from an artificial gravel island began on 24 November 2011.
