Nkossa and Nsoko were discovered by Elf - now TotalEnergies- offshore Congo in 1984 and 1992 respectively. The shallow water fields were part of the Haute Mer exploration block, which was subsequently divided into four production sharing contracts (PSC) with different terms. Nkossa is ring-fenced under Haute Mer Zone A and Nsoko under Haute Mer Zone B.Nkossa came onstream in 1996, and production peaked at 100,000 b/d the following year.
