The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) took place in Houston from 6-9 May 2024 with over 30,000 participants from 107 countries. OTC included well-attended technical sessions on traditional upstream oil and gas topics such as drilling and completions, subsea engineering, reservoir management, field development & project management, HSE, decommissioning and asset life extension. Energy transition topics including CCUS and offshore wind were also prominent at the conference. In our Insight, we discuss key takeaways from the conference and impacts for the US Gulf of Mexico including updates to major upcoming 20-ksi projects, case studies on facility standardization and simplification, and the growing decommissioning liabilities in the US GoM.
