Ohanet is a wet gas development located in the Illizi Basin in eastern Algeria, 100 kilometres west of the Alrar gas field on the Libyan border. The field was developed by a consortium of BHP, Japan Ohanet Oil and Gas Co, Woodside and Petrofac. The international consortium exited the project in 2011 with sole equity reverting to the Algeria NOC, Sonatrach.The main discoveries on the block were made in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
