Deal Insight
Oxy sells in Ghana to Kosmos and GNPC for US$750m
Report summary
Occidental has exited Ghana, selling its interest in Jubilee and TEN to field partners Kosmos and GNPC for US$750 million. The sale ends a process that began in 2019 after Occidental acquired the assets as part of its takeover of Anadarko. Simultaneous to that takeover, Occidental agreed to sell Anadarko's African portfolio to TotalEnergies, but only the Mozambique sale completed, leaving the US independent with Ghana and Algeria. Occidental will be relieved to finally offload assets that geographically were never a natural fit.
