Report summary
Puesto Hernández and Chihuido de la Sierra Negra are two mature conventional oil assets operated by YPF in the Neuquén Basin. This report focuses on the Neuquén province concessions; the analysis of the Mendoza-side concessions can be found in the Chachahuén Area report. Both fields were historically important oil producers for YPF. Despite sustained drilling, workover, and well intervention activity, production at both assets has declined consistently since the early 2000s.
