The Pasca field was discovered in 1968. Twinza Oil, an Australian independent, acquired a licence over the field in 2011 and successfully appraised it in 2018 via the Pasca A4 (AD-1) well. Twinza has proposed to develop Pasca in two phases: a liquids stripping phase, followed by LNG production via a floating LNG facility (FLNG). If developed, Pasca will be PNG’s first offshore upstream project.
