Peace River/Carmon Creek
Report summary
The Peace River project lies 300 kilometres to the west of the main Athabasca oil sands deposit in northeastern Alberta. CNRL operates the project with a 100% interest. Bitumen is currently recovered using the Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) method with horizontal wells. The current plant capacity is 12,500 b/d of bitumen, but production in 2021 was just 2,700 b/d bitumen.
